Screensaver Images for September 21

Below are links to illustrations for scripture texts designated for this Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost according to the Revised Common Lectionary for Year A on the "Sunday closest to September 21". (On a Windows PC, you can save the images referenced below to your My Pictures directory and set the screensaver option to a slide show of pictures in that directory including these.)

Exodus 16:2-15 --- God sends manna from heaven --- This Bible story can be illustrated with a woodcut illustration by Julius Schnoor von Carolsfeld. (Originally printed in Das Buch der Bücher in Bilden and scanned by Publications for Latin America, Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod) http://www.wels.net/wmc/Downloads/052.gif

Psalm 105:1-6, 37-45 --- Two verses from this psalm are illustrated by a greeting card image that may be found on this index page of thumbnail-size images. http://www.floodgateonline.com/psalmcards.html . Click on the the image for Psalm 105 to see a version that would work in your screensaver. But note --- Copyright 2000-2002, Floodgate-Extreme Praise and Worship. Unauthorized use prohibited. The way I look at it is that if someone is going to post an image on the web for you to look at on your computer screen, they know that your computer will mostly likely save a copy of the web page in your cache. So it is only fair for you to be able to look at the image later at a time of your own choosing. (But if it's copyright protected, you need approval before modifying it or printing it out or emailing it .)

Philippians 1:21-30 --- --- A verse from this passage is illustrated by this slightly modified clip art from the collection of the late Fr. Richard Lonsdale. © 2000 by Father Richard Lonsdale. "You may freely copy this document. It may be freely reproduced in any non-profit publication."
