The Saint of the Day is Sophronius of Jerusalem, monk and theologian, who died in 638.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophronius The image found at this site needs to have a border applied and to reduced to about 60% of its original dimensions in order to be useable as a tile for PC wallpaper.

The Heroes of the Day are the brothers John and Charles Wesley. The former passed away in 1791 and the latter in 1788. They were both ordained Anglican ministers, who underwent conversion experiences. Charles Wesley became known primarily as a hymnwriter. John Wesley was also known as a theologian and instrumental in the founding of a new Protestant denomination, the Methodist Church. http://www.imarc.cc/buletins/wesleyq.html The image at the above web page appears to have originated as a portrait painting of John Wesley, late in life. I would reduce this image to 50% to 66% it original dimensions for use as a tile to generate a PC wallpaper background.

The Saint of the Day is Dewi, Bishop of Mynyw (known as Saint David in English). He passed away in the year 589, approximately. He is considered the patron saint of the land of Wales (UK). More information can be had at the following Nash Ford Publishing Company web page.http://www.earlybritishkingdoms.com/bios/dewi.html. Unfortunately the background of the saint's image on that page is all white, which is a bad color for PC wallpaper. Therefore, I have taken the liberty of putting in a grey background in case you wish to use this art as a wallpaper tile. Needless to say, you may not use this to decorate your postcards or represent it as your own, or in anyway violate the following copywright. © David Nash Ford 1996-2007. All Rights Reserved.

Also, still, and once again, the Landscape of the Day is rightfully to be selected from Kazakhstan, the ninth largest nation in the world by area. There is a great need for good high-resolution landscapes from that fabulous country. The Saint of the Day is Benedict of Aniane, an abbot, who passed away in 821. More information about this saint may be found at the Catholic Encyclopedia site http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/02467a.htm . I have uploaded the image on the right from the Ökumenisches Heiligenlexikon, which gives this date for the commemoration of this saint. (The Catholic Encyclopdia has it on February 11.) In the uploaded image I tried to change the background to friendlier color for use as a tile in PC wallpaper. (Pale yellow is not a favorite background color for my computer screen).
This might be a good place to make a recommendation for anyone who it trying to use Saint of the Day wallpaper. Align your desktop icons around the perimeter of your screen to frame the display, and keep each icon in a consistent location so you will know when to look for it. A screen full of Saint of the Day tiles can sometimes make it a little challenging to spot the icon you need. I don't use this type of display when I working on a tight deadline.

This would work best with a border added and reduced to 33% of the original dimensions. For more information about this claim of sainhood for this individual, I would recommend Katherine Rabenstein's hagiography at http://www.saintpatrickdc.org/ss/0211.shtml.
