Orientation: For the past two weeks, the Church has been celebrating the birth of Jesus, as the incarnation of Christ. Now we fast forward 30 years ahead to the beginning of Jesus' ministry as the long-expected Emmanuel (i.e. God with us)
Collect: (prayer for intentions that align with the special observance and the scriptures readings which are designated for this particular Sunday) Father in heaven, who at the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan proclaimed him your beloved Son and anointed himwith the Holy Spirit: Grant that all who are baptized into his Name may keep the covenant they have made, and boldlyconfess him as Lord and Savior; who with you and the HolySpirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen
